About This Site

This website includes links where copies of the basement geological map of the Japanese Islands published in Island Arc (Wallis et al. 2020) can be downloaded. To enable workers to edit the map according to their needs, we have prepared versions in Illustrator format. These can be downloaded from the DOWNLOAD page.

Researchers and students are free to make use of this resource, although we do ask that they reference the Island Arc paper as the original source.

We also welcome you to CONTACT us and invite communications concerning new discoveries or corrections that will assist in updating and improving the map. These will be gradually incorporated making this an organic project and updated versions of the map will be made available when appropriate.
